Anyone who has spent much time in a canoe knows that mastery of the craft demands a lot of learning. Help others learn the finer points and joys of canoeing by becoming a certified instructor. This certification is geared toward helping your students learn the about river hazards and features, strokes and basic skills such as catching a large eddy or doing a gentle ferry. This is a great certification for programs that want to add day trips down easy moving water rivers to their schedules. Ivan Bartha, Instructor Trainer.

Candidates may certify in tandem canoe.

Tuition Notes
The Instructor Certification Workshop requires a $200 non-refundable deposit to register, with the balance due 4 weeks prior to the start of the course. A 15-business-day cancellation notice is required to receive a refund on the balance of the course fee.

In addition to tuition, annual membership is required in the ACA for an additional $40. Participants should obtain ACA membership in advance of the start of this course. At the time of Certification, annual membership is also required in the Safety, Education and Instruction Committee for an additional $25.

Each person attending Rutabaga classes must read and sign the Waiver of Liability form and the Student Health Info form. Please download each form for each participant and bring the signed documents with you when you come to class. Thanks!
