As more people discover kayaking, there is an increasing need for qualified instructors who can help paddlers develop the basic skills they need to be safe on the water. The
ACA Level 2: Essentials of Kayak Touring certification qualifies you to teach introductory kayak skills in a variety of kayaks (sea, river, recreational, sit-on-top) in a protected and calm water location. A great way for camp waterfront staff to add kayaking to their camp programs, this certification is also appropriate for instructors who limit their teaching to inland lakes. John Browning, Instructor Trainer.
The ICW requires a $200 non-refundable deposit to register, with the balance due 4 weeks prior to the start of the course. A 15-business-day cancellation notice is required to receive a refund on the balance of the course fee.
In addition to tuition, annual membership is required in the ACA for an additional $40. Participants should obtain ACA membership in advance of the start of this course. At the time of Certification, annual membership is also required in the Safety, Education and Instruction Committee for an additional $25.
